2026 F1 Singapore GP: Weather forecast for the race weekend at Marina Bay Street Circuit

The 2026 F1 Singapore GP is set to take place from 9-11 October at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. The Lion City will be hosting a sprint weekend this time around, meaning just one practice session for the drivers to settle into the rhythm.

A sprint weekend means all the run plans get crammed into one practice session. If teams and drivers collect no meaningful data during that one session, they may struggle for the rest of the weekend. Hence, clear weather and conditions comparable to the race are of utmost importance.

The country of Singapore is located in the tropical zone, less than 100 miles away from the equator, and is susceptible to rain showers throughout the year. The race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit is no stranger to these rain showers, with the chaotic 2017 Grand Prix being the perfect example, where Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen crashed on the first lap. The 2022 Singapore GP also saw a cloudburst which delayed the race start.

The reports suggest a lack of rainfall in Singapore this year due to the weather phenomenon called El Niño, leading to considerably less rainfall than the average. This lack of precipitation has fueled wildfires, as drivers were greeted with smoke in Singapore.

However, the weather forecast for this weekend shows a considerable risk of rain throughout all three days.
