Lewis Hamilton was born on 7th January 1985 to parents Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier. When Hamilton was a toddler, his parents seperated. Before marrying Hamilton’s father, Carmen had previously been married to Raymond Lockhart, with whom she had two daughters. Samantha and Nicola Lockhart are Hamilton’s half-sisters. The F1 driver stayed with his mother and sisters until the age of 10, eventually moving in with his father to focus on his racing career.

Little is known about Nicola Lockhart and her sister. However, one of them is the mom to Kaiden and Willow, the nephew and niece of Lewis Hamilton. The F1 champion’s step siblings have mostly stayed out of the limelight despite their famous relation. In 2019, Hamilton shared photos of him with his nephew and niece, as well as penning a heartwarming note about the importance of family.

“Today I got to see my niece and nephew and my boy Roscoe. Spending time with family is so important. I don’t get very much time with them so I cherish every little moment I do get. There’s really nothing else in the world more important than family. Summer is here in the UK and it’s beautiful. Home is where the heart is.”

Lewis Hamilton’s father, Anthony, remarried after he divorced Carmen. During his marriage with Linda Hamilton, the driver’s half-brother was born, Nicolas. Nicolas Hamilton was born with cerebral palsy, but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming a racing driver as well. Following in the footsteps of his successful brother, Nicolas races in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). He is the first ever disabled person to compete in the BTCC.

How does Lewis Hamilton feel about both of his moms?

Lewis Hamilton has always been grateful to both of his mothers, Carmen and Linda. Both women have been major supporters of the driver’s career from a young age. Carmen has been attending Hamilton’s races from his days in karting, as well as being there for all his major moments in Formula 1. Meanwhile, since Lewis lived with his father and Linda growing up, his stepmother also made sacrifices for his racing career.

On Mother’s Day in 2022, Lewis Hamilton made sure to celebrate his mother, but also shared a seperate post on his instagram relaying his gratefulness to Linda.

“Without [Linda] I wouldn’t be the man I am today. I sure as hell wouldn’t be racing. She’s been with me since the beginning and put everything into my future. When you see me you see her. Making her proud is truly one of the best feelings in the world.”

“I want to take a moment to celebrate my mum today. Since the day you brought me into this world you showered me with love, showed me the importance of empathy, compassion and caring for others. The unconditional love you’ve shown me is unmatched and I feel so lucky to have a mother as wonderful as you. You are the best part of me.”
