Winning is the ultimate prize in F1, and top teams like Ferrari, Red Bull, and Mercedes compete at the highest level to achieve this.  Over the years, there have been many teams that have registered themselves as race winners, but the numbers shrink when one considers repeated winners.

It shortens further if you categorize them under championship winners. But that is what it takes to win the sport: performance, consistency, and improvement. There is a reason why there are only a few teams that have achieved it all in the sport.

While it seems rather hard to remain consistent over many years, there have been some exceptional teams that have managed to achieve it. The curious case of Scuderia Ferrari, however, significantly changes.

Although the team is not the most consistent, their sheer longevity in the sport has helped them to clinch the maximum number of race wins compared to any other team in the sport’s seven decades of history.

Let us take a look at some of the other teams that sit at the top of the winningest table.

#1 Scuderia Ferrari

Ferrari is the oldest team on the Formula 1 grid. They made their appearance in the first race at Silverstone in 1950. Additionally, they are the only constructor from that race to still take part in the series. The team has been through all the regulation changes and also made history with drivers like Niki Lauda, Alberto Ascari, and Michael Schumacher.

Considering the time they have spent racing in Formula 1, it comes as no surprise that they have the most wins in the sport as well. Ferrari, the Italian constructor, has taken the crown with a whopping 248 Grand Prix victories since 1950. Their first win was at the British GP in 1951, and the most recent one was in 2024, in Mexico.

#2 McLaren

McLaren is also one of the oldest constructors in the sport. Their first race was back in 1966. Although they began racing considerably later than Ferrari, McLaren still has the second most victories in their racing history.

They have clinched 196 wins so far, with their latest one coming in Spain in 2025. The team has been home to legendary drivers like Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen, and Lewis Hamilton. This gave them quite some performances back in the day. They currently lead the 2025 Championship as well after a flawless win last year.

#3 Mercedes

The German constructor has had two separate stints in the sport. They made their initial appearance between 1954 and 1955. They were quite strong at the time, too, taking victories with Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss.

However, they stopped participating and returned in 2010 with Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg. The latter took their first victory in 2012. However, what made them win a total of 130 races (after their most recent win in Canada, 2025) was their domination with Lewis Hamilton. The team won eight consecutive Constructors’ Championships between 2014 and 2021.

They also won seven Drivers’ titles with Hamilton and Rosberg. This made them one of the most successful teams in the sport’s history.

#4 Red Bull Racing

Red Bull debuted on the grid in the 2005 season after purchasing Jaguar Racing. Although the team is quite recent, they are the only ones who have had two different dominant periods in separate F1 eras within the past two decades.

The team hit the mark with Sebastian Vettel in 2010, winning four consecutive titles between 2010 and 2013. Next, they peaked with Max Verstappen, who won another four titles between 2021 and 2024. He is currently a contender for this year’s championship as well.

With these stats, the team has amassed 124 wins within two decades, making them one of the strongest teams. Verstappen brought their most recent victory in Imola, 2025.

#5 Williams Racing

It might come as a shock, but the team with the fifth most F1 wins is Williams Racing. Similar to Ferrari, their history in the sport has helped. The team’s inception was back in 1978 under Frank Williams, and they grew very competitive in the early 80s and 90s.

The team was one of the strongest on the track and consistently delivered results with drivers like Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet. Their most recent victory, however, was over a decade ago in Spain, in 2012. That was the team’s 114th F1 Grand Prix victory.
