Liam Lawson revealed how his sisters had to give up their dancing careers for him

Speaking in 2024, Liam Lawson shared that two of his sisters had to give up their dreams of becoming professional dancers because of him. He revealed how they could not compete in tournaments because of the Kiwi driver’s go-karting career.

Speaking on the Red Bull documentary about his journey, Lawson shared the emotional sacrifices that his siblings made so that he could succeed in his dream of becoming an F1 driver.

Two of my sisters were national-level Irish dancers, but they couldn’t do it,” said Lawson. “They had to stop. They couldn’t compete and go overseas anymore because of my go-kart racing. I absolutely love my family.”

In 2025, Liam Lawson started his first full F1 season as Red Bull’s second driver, a designation he was only able to enjoy for two races before being demoted back to Racing Bulls after the Chinese Grand Prix. The 23-year-old is now partnering Isack Hadjar at Red Bull’s sister team.
