Lando Norris Unhappy With F1 Media For Big Reason

Lando Norris doesn’t seem to be happy with what happened between him and F1 Media as he won the Monaco GP. He’s just 3 points behind Oscar Piastri now, with the Brit looking to win his first F1 Championship ever.

Lando Norris’ poor finish in Miami meant Oscar Piastri had a significant advantage over his McLaren counterpart. A poor strategy in Imola meant Norris closing down the gap by a margin. Now Norris hasn’t minced any words in calling out the media after his surge in form.
He said

“Yeah, people can write what they want. It’s not up to me. People have their own opinions, they can do all of those things. Thing is, none of them are true, 99% of the time. So, it’s all crap.”

Seeming much more happy with his performance on Sunday, he added:

“I don’t mind what people write as long as I know the truth and my team know the truth, and that’s fine. I’ve been working hard over the last few months to get back to having that momentum that I had in Australia, that confidence.”

Despite coming into Sunday trailing the Championship, Norris has gone strength to strength to challenge Oscar Piastri for the Championship, with Max Verstappen chasing him every step of the way. Monaco has historically been a much more dull race, and with Lando Norris clinching the Pole, it was only a matter of time that he also won the main race.

He further talked about the race in the interview:

“What I felt this weekend was a small step forward, but it’s not it. It’s not like I’ve nailed it now and everything’s back. There are still things that I need to work on, there are still things that – as a team – them giving me the equipment – and I don’t mean just making a quicker car, because the car’s quick enough – but giving me the things I need from the car in order to excel and maximize results, and the differences from last year to this year.”

Lando Norris has only won twice in the season so far, and still a long way to go if he wants to have a shot at winning his first F1 Championship. While he is still 3 points behind Oscar Piastri, he still as much chance at winning the coveted trophy as much as his McLaren counterpart.

It will be worth seeing if Max Verstappen is able to close the gap on the two McLaren’s or not, considering Red Bull’s car is not as great it was for the last few years. With Yuki Tsunoda also struggling, they are very unlikely to win this year’s Constructors Championship.
