Outside the world of F1 and its partners, Valtteri Bottas has a diverse business portfolio. The Finn has become a part-owner of a coffee brand, a gin company, and a wine business. While he only joined the coffee enterprise later, Bottas started his gin venture with his partner, Tiffany Cromwell. The wine brand he has is also based in her home country of Australia.

In November of 2020, Bottas shared on his Instagram the story of how he got into the coffee space. Exploring his hometown of Lahti during the pandemic, the driver stumbled on Kahiwa Coffee Roasters. In his social media post, he explained that he really liked the taste of the coffee as well as the team behind it. Their dedication to sustainability impressed Bottas. He eventually invested in the company and became a co-owner, owning 20% of Kahiwa Coffee.

In 2023, Bottas and his partner, Tiffany Cromwell, released their gin brand, Oath. It is made with oats from the driver’s uncle’s farm in Finland, and apple peels represent the apple-growing region of Adelaide Hills, where Cromwell is from. The gin is a portrayal of the mixture of the couple’s backgrounds.

“It was a common thing that me and Tiffany had in terms of interest: gin and collecting gin from our travels,” Bottas explains. “Then one day we just decided we would do our own and combined Finland and Australia, so that’s why its oats and apples.

Ihana, which means ‘wonderful’ or ‘fantastic’ in Finnish, is the name of Valtteri Bottas’ wine company. The shiraz is manufactured and bottled at a winery in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Bottas teamed up with the winery during one of his trips to Australia when he was visiting Cromwell.

“Then I just asked the question: could I do my own blend? [The winery] obviously are quite protective of their wine, they discussed it and looked at the pros and cons and we decided we would start our own brand, separate from the winery but made with their grapes and with their skill.” [via ESPN]

Lastly, Valtteri Bottas also owns a 10-percent stake in the Lahti Pelicans, an ice hockey team from his hometown in Finland.
