Gabriel Bortoleto is one of the many rookies who joined the F1 grid this season. His performance in the Italian F4 and karting has also been impressive. But the best was yet to come. As per Motorsport, Bortoleto got away from his home in Brazil and moved to Italy with his coach Francesco di Mauro at the tender age of 13. This was a major move in his racing career, which gave him the opportunity to run the Italian F4. He ran the series in the 2020 season, clinching 1 win and 20 pole positions, finishing the championship in fifth place.

He ran similar races between 2021 and 2022 before Fernando Alonso’s A14 Management company signed him. The indirect backing from the Spanish F1 driver further helped him to make his F3 debut with Trident in 2023. He won the championship that season with two race wins. He then moved to F2, winning the championship in 2024 with Invicta. Subsequently, he moved to Formula 1 with Sauber in the 2025 season.

Gabriel Bortoleto is the younger son of Andrea and Lincoln Bortoleto Oliveira. His father pursued education at the FMU University. He was the system engineer at Novell for two years before becoming the director of America Net Itda.
He worked with the company for 16 years. Following this, he was appointed as the company’s president, and he became a magnate in the telecommunications industry in the country. Not a lot is known about Gabriel Bortoleto’s mother, Andrea.
Gabriel Bortoleto has an elder brother
Gabriel isn’t the only one in the family involved in motorsports. His elder brother, Enzo, is also a racer. He currently competes in KTF Sports, as per Sportskeeda. He is also a graduate in Business Administration and Management, having pursued it from the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation.
Bortoleto is currently racing in his first F1 season with Sauber. However, the team hasn’t delivered promising results. Coming into the sport after having won two consecutive championships in two years, Gabriel Bortoleto’s best finish is a P14, as per the latest race in Monaco.
