“Eventually there will be news”: Valtteri Bottas hints on his possible Cadillac/Alpine F1 future

Mercedes reserve driver Valtteri Bottas commented on the possibility of his return to the grid as a Cadillac or Alpine driver in the near future. He has been out of a full-time seat this season after Sauber changed their lineup.

Although there has been no confirmation from any teams or such reports, Bottas was recently linked to the 2026 Cadillac seat. The American team is set to debut on the F1 grid as the 11th team next year. So far, they haven’t dropped any hint on their driver lineup, which has paved way for much speculations.

Amidst the confusion, Bottas posted a video on social media where he could be seen assessing the seat of one of Cadillac’s road cars. He mentioned that he liked the ‘seat,’ which was linked to a potential F1 seat. However, there has been no update on the situation since.

Bottas was then reported to be an active candidate for Alpine, who are looking to add more competitive and consistent driver to their lineup. Amidst the rumors, the Finnish driver was questioned about the possibility of an announcement from either of the teams. He replied negatively.

“Not much. I’m like I said, all your long, I’m missing racing and it’s getting more and more difficult to follow. Um, So I’m we’re working on it. Looking at all the options. And yeah, I just want to get back to racing so um hopefully eventually there will be news but nothing yet.”

While there has been no information on the matter, Bottas continues his third driver duties with Mercedes. But he would seemingly be a strong pick for Cadillac in at least their first two years in the sport.
