Lewis Hamilton is one of the most influential drivers on the F1 grid. A seven-time World Champion, he broke multiple records with Mercedes and moved to Ferrari this year. While his campaign with the Italian outfit hasn’t yielded very competitive results, Hamilton continues to put in maximum work.
Despite having achieved almost everything in F1, there is one aspect about Hamilton that remains a mystery: his family. With Max Verstappen becoming a father at 27, the question still stands for Lewis Hamilton. As of 2025, he does not have any children of his own and has never been married, either. Moreover, he isn’t known to be dating anyone currently.
He has had a dating history. He was in a long-term relationship with Nicole Scherzinger till the 2015 season; however, they did not have any kids, either. It seems rather interesting that on one side, a majority of the F1 grid is dating, while Hamilton has kept himself out of the same.
Lewis Hamilton reveals why he hasn’t had a child yet
As mentioned, Lewis Hamilton is still single at 40 and without any children. He once cleared this up in an interview. The Briton mentioned that he is unlike any other 40-year-old driver on the grid, emphasizing that he is the only black driver in F1 history. He further mentioned that his complete focus is on racing; hence, he has remained without a child till now.
“I’m built different. I’ve been through a lot. I’ve had my journey. You can’t compare me to another 40-year-old, past or present, Formula One driver in history. Because they are nothing like me,” he said (via GBNews).
“I’m hungry, driven, and don’t have a wife and kids. I’m focused on one thing, and that’s winning. That’s my No. 1 priority.”
Although Lewis Hamilton hasn’t had a child so far, he does not miss out on dealing with children. He is the uncle to his niece and nephew, Willow and Kaiden. He has been spotted spending considerable time with the two children. Moreover, he had once revealed that he does not have the time to be a parent, but enjoys being an uncle.
“Not at the moment. No. I don’t have time for that – I enjoy being an uncle!” He said (via Sportskeeda).
Currently, Hamilton has quite a lot to catch up with, considering his stance with Ferrari in the 2025 season. The team is currently sitting in second place in the Constructors’ Championship. However, they lacked pace early in the season and are in no way in contention for the championship. McLaren leads the grid, with fierce competition within the rest of the top five.
