Charles Leclerc's dog Leo

Charles Leclerc and his girlfriend Alexandra Saint-Mleux‘s dog, Leo, is one of the most famous pets on the F1 grid. The dachshund has even made multiple appearances in the F1 paddock, attending race weekends with his parents.

The Ferrari star may be one of the sharpest talents on the F1 grid, but off track, it’s his long-haired furry friend who has often stolen the spotlight. The Monegasque is one of the most supported drivers on the grid. Naturally, his fans are obsessed with all the details of the driver’s personal life, including his dog.

All about Charles Leclerc’s dog, Leo

Monaco-born Charles Leclerc first introduced Leo to the world in April 2024. The miniature dachshund was gifted to the 27-year-old by a friend of his. Leclerc has claimed that Leo instantly made his and his girlfriend’s lives “so much better.” [via Tatler.com]

In 2024, Leo attended several Grands Prix, including Miami, Imola, and Monaco. The dog was even present at the Italian Grand Prix, and a hilarious video was posted by F1, via their Youtube, sharing the dog’s perspective of the weekend.

The former Sauber driver describes Leo as a well-behaved dog, and not as stubborn as dachshunds are reputed to be. Charles Leclerc has previously shared a hilarious story about how Leo would pee all around his house, during the initial stages of his life.

Fans are constantly kept updated about Leo’s life. This is especially thanks to Saint-Mleux, who provides constant updates regarding the dachshund’s life. The 27-year-old even has a specific story highlight on his Instagram for his pet; the only one on his page.

Leo is still just over a year old. In the paddock, he’s made a friend in Lewis Hamilton’s bulldog, Roscoe. Now that Hamilton and Leclerc are teammates at Ferrari, Leo and Roscoe also make up Formula 1’s first-ever dog teammate pairing.

“Leo is just the best”, says Charles Leclerc

It is no surprise that the 8-time F1 race winner claimed his dog is simply “the best” in his view. The F1 star admitted that he is a biased source, but expressed his love for his miniature dachshund.

Speaking to Tatler back in March, the Ferrari driver gave a glowing description of his canine friend.

“Leo is just the best, he is not that stubborn. He is super well-behaved. I just love him.”

“Obviously, I am his Dad, so I am only going to tell you the positives!”

Leo lives with Charles Leclerc and Saint-Mleux in the former’s permanent home in Monaco and often features on their Instagram. Leo also appeared in the latest season of Netflix’s Drive to Survive, causing chaos around Leclerc’s house as the family went about their day.
